Multiple locations

A second location is a second set of rules

Opening across a state line changes the overtime threshold, the minimum wage, the holidays, the time zone and possibly the currency. None of those are settings you should have to remember.

Each location carries its own everything

Its own schedule, its own team, its own budget, its own time zone and its own labor rules. Pick a jurisdiction and the figures fill in; edit any of them and they stay edited. A location in Alberta and a location in Montana do not average into a company default.

  2. 02

Roles are company-wide, people are not

A Server is the same thing in both rooms. Copying roles per location only ends with colors and reports that disagree with each other. People are listed per location, so a board shows the people who work that board — and somebody on two rosters is still one person with one week and one overtime total on it.

  3. 03

    USD or CAD, per location

Currency, time zone and week start are stored on the location, not compiled into the product. A Sunday-first week in one place and a Monday-first week in another is a normal Tuesday, not a support ticket.

What it does not do yet

It does not merge budgets: each location prices only its own shifts. Hours somebody works at another location still count toward their overtime, rest and minors' limits here, and a shift that overlaps one there is flagged.
