Only what you published
Changes you are still making stay in your draft. Your team sees the week when you publish it, and only the people whose shifts changed are told. Wages and the budget never reach their phone.
what your team sees
Servers, cooks and bartenders open the week you published and nothing else: their shifts and who they work with, open shifts to pick up, their availability and time off, and the training you assigned. On the iPhone app, or in any phone's browser.
The iPhone app is in beta through TestFlight, Apple's app for testing, and is not in the App Store yet. Ask us at hello@shiftnivo.com to add your team. The same schedule works on the web, on Android and on any computer.

Changes you are still making stay in your draft. Your team sees the week when you publish it, and only the people whose shifts changed are told. Wages and the budget never reach their phone.
A notification when the week is published or a shift changes, saying what it was and what it is now. A reminder before each shift. An answer the moment you decide a request, and your announcements. Anyone without the app gets the schedule and the answers by email.
Each person sets the hours they can work, day by day, and changes them for a few weeks when exams or a second job get in the way. They ask for time off from the same place. You are warned when a shift lands on either, and the decision stays yours.
Open shifts for the next two weeks, and shifts a colleague is giving up, are one tap away: they ask for one and you approve. They can offer a shift, hand it to someone or ask to swap, and a swap that would double-book anyone is refused.
The courses you assign, read a lesson at a time, with a short quiz at the end. Certificates the law asks for, like a food handler card, are uploaded from the phone and checked by you, and the board warns you before a shift goes to someone whose card has lapsed.
The next shift sits on the Lock Screen and in a Home Screen widget, and while they are working, a Live Activity shows when the shift ends. Shifts can go into the phone's own calendar, and the last schedule they opened stays readable without a signal.
Pay rates, the budget and the labor cost stay with the managers allowed to see them. A birth date, asked for only when someone is under 18, stays with managers too. A phone number reaches colleagues only if its owner switches that on, and it is off until they do.
Managers approve time off and cover from their phone, see who is on today, and handle the four o'clock sick call: the app lists who could take the shift, best fit first, and gives it to the person they pick.
There is no Android app yet: Android phones use the web app in the browser, and get email instead of notifications. There is no time clock and no chat, only announcements. And while the iPhone app is in beta, each person joins it through TestFlight first.
