Team, availability and swaps

Covering a Saturday, without the group chat

Three shapes of the same problem — I cannot work this, somebody take it, or let us trade — and one queue for all of them.

No credit card. Free during early access.

  1. 01

    Drop, hand over, swap

Drop it and the shift goes back to the open row. Hand it over and it moves to a named person. Swap and two shifts change places. Each one is a request with a state, and approving one that would double-book somebody is refused by the server rather than caught by whoever is reading the queue at eleven at night.

  2. 02

    One inbox, one badge

Time off, availability and cover requests arrive in the same place, with a count in the sidebar. Approve or decline, and the board changes. A hand-over approved on a published week does not put the week back into draft — it already happened.

  3. 03

What a member of staff can actually see

One screen with their own week on it. Their shifts, the hours they said they can work, their time off, and a way to hand a shift to somebody.

What is not on that screen is not hidden by CSS — wages, the budget and everybody else's hours are never sent to it. Nothing there is an approval either; approving stays with the manager.

  4. 04

Most of a restaurant never signs in

Staff accounts are optional. Somebody who never logs in is scheduled exactly the same way as somebody who does. When you do want to bring a person in, an invitation is a link that works once, expires in fourteen days, and replaces itself if you send a second one — there are never two live links to the same inbox.

The invitation is sent for you, and a published week reaches the people whose shifts moved.

What it does not do yet

The iPhone app is in beta: the next shift on the Lock Screen and in a widget, reminders, open shifts, swaps, availability and time off, announcements, and approvals for managers. There is no Android app yet and no SMS, and there is no in-app chat, only announcements.
